WHY DO I LIKE LEONA???

Sorry for the long yap as usual but, I feel like every once in a while ppl ask me this very question and I feel like I have been in twst hell for so long it’s like ancient history now. VGBHNJMK

TBH I very strongly disliked Leona's character when he came on screen when I first started to play twst. I found Chapter 2 to be very flat compared to Chapter 1 and I had very little sympathy for him and his backstory. To me, it was clear he was just the "hot, brooding character" archetype and I had no interest in him whatsoever.

HOWEVER, when I became more active in the fandom, my friend @comingyourlugubriousness and others began to ship my Yuu with him as a joke bc of my said dislike. And, yeah I begin to write lil scenarios where they’d interact and challenged myself to make a logical way he would even be interested in my Yuu in the first place? 

THAT GOT ME THINKING and I saw how he used to be characterized in fics and stuff and I really just didn't agree??? Even to this day, I feel like some ppl go in two extremes with him. 1.) Where they wash down his personality in order for him to fit in into this “prince charming role" OR 2.) They make him the worst bastard ever, which can lead into certian problematic connotations.

When I went to write my own fics I had watched all of his vignettes and understood better what his true personality is. The main story does not do much to make him likable to a general audience sometimes IMO. And so I became interested in how and why so many ppl interpret his character so wrong?? (My opinion ofc)

And so my journey began as prob one of the biggest Leona apologists ever.

To answer the question better I guess. What do I LIKE about him?

I like him bc in order to enjoy him you really have to read between the lines and do your own work as a fan to find the intriguing parts of him! It's just fun!

I actually find him very relatable, his burnout and seemingly ultra competitive but still “work smarter” not harder attitude is something I gel with and feels very realistic for someone his age.

YES, I think his design is nice but honestly it's the least interesting thing about him to me. I will always enjoy long hair on men that's no secret. According to some friends I "have a type” but eh.

I like that he uses his sorta rude and grumpy ruse to scare ppl off. I  personally subscribe to the idea that underneath all that sass he's just a lil cantankerous grandpa stuck in a  20 year old’s body, who likes to yap about chess and dead languages. 

He’s a nerd and likes books.

He's a true hater. 💚

I feel like he'd never judge your appearance, for eating too much or being lazy.

I feel like he's a caretaker and would always look out for you.

I think he'd be a good teacher and big brother and a lot of his more amiable qualities remind me of my own S/O who is so, so smart and charismatic and who I love very much! 

I say "I think/feel" on a lot of this bc TBH the headcanons I have made for him over my time in the fandom are probably 80% the reason I like him, yk?

I would like to request something about your World Eater, Spartak (he's my favourite of your boys). It doesn't have to be a story, it could be headcanons you have for Spartak (SFW or NSFW). Here's a few questions that might give you some ideas:

So when 'reader' left Spartak, where did she go? How did they 'escape'? Did she go walk, drive, plane? How far did she manage to go and how long did it take for Spartak to find her. Clearly she was afraid of him. Did she find a city to live in? Did another space marine (or the young Night Lord) find her to live with or live nearby her, who also may or may not have his eyes on her too?

Where did reader go I cannot really answer this one without spoiling too much. The best I can give you is somewhere where there isn’t a lot of other Astartes. Yet, you would think you would want to be in an area full of Marines, huh? Yeah, not you.

How did they escape? Did they walk, drive, plane: They have escaped plenty of times by various ways: bus, running, taxi, hitchhiking… you name it.

One time, you were simply waiting for a bus. You form a bit shivering as you try to cuddle up into yourself from the midnight cold that bites at you through your clothing. You didn't have the best clothing before. You were... inexperienced on trying to ghost your own Astartes'. Not truly knowing the honesty of what those being could do until you find yourself experiencing it yourself. At least in very mild forms.

The hairs on the back of your neck suddenly stand up, and you're not sure if it was just because of the cold or not. Your eyes glancing up to look around you in the dark, seeing nothing but some flickering streetlights and an on-coming thunderstorm that occasionally flashes in the distance: near the mountains. Another sigh leaving you as you try and convince yourself that you were just being paranoid... Until you look in front of you, your heart stuttering in your chest.

There he was. Simply standing tall on the other side of the street, not even under a streetlight. His maroon armor almost blending into the shadows of the dark. That glowing visor of his being the only thing bright of him in the moment as he doesn't move, and that itself was eerie as hell.

How far did they go: Honestly? The farthest they went before was another (American) state. Only because you had a head start.

Again, you were very inexperienced on escaping at this point of time. So, you can't absolutely be sure that you have escaped, but it was just a mistake to learn within time as you give a sigh of relief. Believing that you could finally have a normal life without him stuffing you close to him whenever he can.

Your fingers press a button on a vending machine to simply get something to drink after a long travel of evading many things in the world. Your hands being stuffed into your jacket as you watch the machine work its magic on getting you what you have paid for before the disastrous thing decides to give you a strange whirr and gets stuck on the beverage it was trying to deposit to you.

Your grumble under your breath before you suddenly freeze. Your eyes scanning the reflection of the vending machine. Seeing a replica of him in it, just more faded. His helmet so close to the right side of your face, and you swear you could feel his quiet, heaving breaths on your skin.

How long did it take for her to find her: Didn’t take long for him to find out, and it didn’t take long for him to go into a rage and locate you as soon as possible.

For him to find out is not many things a human, even an Astarte's want. Weather he would be getting word or a certain milli second twang in his soul. He would not be happy despite his silence of trying not to fuck everything up in the area around him. You can just feel a dark, dangerous aura around him. Tis just best to leave the World Eater alone when he emits just an aura. Don't get in his way.

Why were they afraid: A bit of social phobia, but I’m having to leave this one alone for I would like to eventually make some past/lore stories.

Did they find a city to live in: They don’t even have time to set up shop. They have to keep moving if they were to avoid him properly.

A bit further in with your expertise in escaping. Your figure jogging through a random, forest park. You have learned quite a few things. One of them being: never, stop, moving. It's a very critical decision to make, not only for your health (in good and bad ways,) but for your... sanity as well. You wish for a second of peace? Run. Run as fast as you can, maybe put a few evading tactics in there too.

Though, who truly could outrun an Astarte's?

You yelp as your suddenly picked up from the scruff. Your hands' extending out in surprise of such an action. Your neck abruptly titled in an opened angle as a cold metal meets your sensitive skin there. A low, almost growly purr escaping him while he inhales your scent through his own helmet. To any on lookers, this just looks like a mischievous marine annoying their bonded.

Did another marine find them, did they live with them: There was one marine, but they didn’t live long enough to make a nest with them…

Another marine has and they have offered you a friendly/platonic time within their nest. To this random Marine, you almost look like a... lost child to them. You're fidgety and look around yourself a lot as if you were looking for something, someone. Which should have been the first and only alarm bells for the Marine. The second would be your refusal because you know what he could do to them, and it wouldn't be long before you see this nice Marine disappear.

Do they have other admiring eyes on them: Oh, they do, but not many are stupid enough to challenge Spartak out of all Astarte's for your hand. Those who dare are quickly... eradicated or if they are lucky enough... a wounded pride and physicality would surffice.

Do you have headcanons for ler sniper??? I like to imagine him as a silly ler bc the comunity always potraits him as a serious, silent and grumpy old man but...hey, we have A LOT of voicelines of him being literally a golden retriever (even in the comics he's super sweet) >w<)/

Anyways, i remember a voiceline of Sniper dancing conga, saying smthing like "happy feet, happy feet!"...And—,, omg im so lee for that one😭...i feel like he would babytalk the whole time, or at least make silly voices, and for raspberries...dont let me start w them, bc he's a professional when it comes to raspberrying a tummy🙏🙏🙏(canon im valve),, i mean, look at his stubble, and he plays the sax...so, idk, it's obvious for me how good this man is!! He loves to make his lee's blushed and flustered (romantic or not)

YES! Yes, listen, yes, I think fandom sees him being a bit more serious than he actually is. He is damn playful when he wants to be, I especially see it as someone who more bases anything on the game than anything else tf2. The best example is exactly that "happy feet, happy feet" you said (btw, he says it while square dance taunting, not congaing, I had to correct it but don't worry about it ;3). Honestly, the same applies to Spy if you ask me, but let's focus on Snipurr because yes, he's a damn playful ler, let me tell ya:

"Professionals have standards" huh? He sure does, and tickling is no different. He has standards, damn it. He especially uses this line for blowing raspberries, but it works for tickling in general

all of the mercs who have stubble use it for tickling and Sniper's no different, yep, mostly for tickling a sensitive tummy. It also works for giving tickly kisses because then he has two things to tickle with - his lips and his stubble *V*

ok, so, yeah, I'm never getting that "happy feet, happy feet" out of my mind because omg. He very much says that while tickling his lee's feet, and the lee dies, especially Scout. His feet are deathly ticklish and combined with this kind of teasing? Yep, he's a goner. Like sir, Sniper, sir, that's illegal

one of his favourites way to tickle is to use his lips to tickle a neck or nuzzle it while holding his lee's arms, pinning them down. From his experience it's very very flustering to his lee. Another way is sitting down, his lee between his legs with their back facing him, Sniper's hands tickling their torso, mostly their tummy. He simply prefers when his lee doesn't really have space to escape

he's taller than most of the mercenaries and the bastard takes advantage of it. He will hold something of another person's above their head, then when they're trying to get it and reaching for it with their hands he will catch their wrists with one hand, use the other to tickle the tummy and, of course, tickle their neck with his lips at the same time. He tickles a lot from behind

while he does prefer for the tickling to happen in more private spaces like his campervan or his room (does he even have a room or is he in his campervan entire time? Eh) that doesn't mean he definitely won't tickle with others around. He's all for the lee being embarassed by being tickled in front of others, he just prefers to have peace and be sure no one and nothing will interrupt

yes, he does love making his lee blushy and flustered, can't tell me otherwise, mostly by commenting on the spots like "Those are some unusually ticklish feet, mate" or "your stomach is moving a lot while tickled, I think it means it likes it".

Those aren't headcanons btw, this is all canon cause I'm Valve itself too, trust.

Hey lovely, I've been thinking about you ever since I got this ask. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope the good days will outnumber the bad ones for you soon. Grief is such a heavy, all encompassing force, that often keeping going is often harder than any exercise. Thank you for trusting me with this, I hope these headcanons are in some way helpful.

Curtis Brothers Missing their Parents Headcanons:

Soda stole their mom’s perfume after she died and sometimes he puts it on his wrist before bed so when he closes his eyes he can  smell it and pretend she’s hugging him again

Soda and Ponyboy miss their parents the most when they’re sick but Darry misses them the most when he’s sitting in front of bills he can’t afford to pay and doesn’t know what to do

Two weeks after the funeral Darry took down the mirror in the bathroom. He told everyone it was because he cracked it accidentally but really it was because every time he saw himself out of the corner of his eye he thought he saw his dad and he felt like he was going crazy

Ponyboy draws his parents almost obsessively because he’s terrified he’ll forget what they looked like

Soda can’t remember what his dad’s voice sounded like and it haunts him

Ponyboy mentions in the book that he tried alcohol once and didn’t like it. He tried a month after their parents died because he thought it would make it easier but instead it just made everything feel worse and he ended up crying into Soda’s shoulder for hours. Darry checked on him once but never even stepped fully into the room. 

Their mom loved jazz music. Soda used to love jazz music. Now Soda can’t stand to listen to jazz music

Darry wore one of their dad’s suits to the funeral because his old one didn’t fit him and it was just one more thing that made the whole day feel wrong. 

Darry visits their parents graves the most. More than Soda or Ponyboy realise, and far more than he likes to admit. Sometimes he’ll leave early for work, or stop by after his shift and just sit infant of their headstones and tell them everything he can’t tell anyone else because ehe has to be the adult now, he has to be responsible, but his parents can still hear about his woes even if they can’t answer anymore

On the other hand Soda can’t bear to visit their graves, ever. The funeral was bad enough

To this day Ponyboy barely ever mentions either of his parents and will often leave the room if someone else brings them up. It took a while for him to accept they weren’t coming back in the first place, and he just. Doesn’t want to think about it. So he doesn’t.

making galadriel so un-galadriel - horrible, she is the daughter of high king finarfin and would never behave like a petulant child going on her merry way to seek sauron. she would also not wear feanorian star for fuck's sake

numenor - terribly rushed, don't like it's downfall being sped up like 1500 years, give the Men some credit

the whole people living in mordor story - eh, not great, the men there are kind of annoying, but rooting for arondir

whole weird thing with elvish politics honestly and elrond being somehow treated as lesser because of his heritage (his heritage is literally the most prominent heroes and kings of middle earth. and also a maia. his dad literally ended the war so.)

where the hell is celeborn and celebrian - i so wanted to see the blooming romance between celebrian and elrond, i would give everything to see them together

now for the things i DO enjoy

elrond's baby face - he's my pookie i love him (also writes speeches for gil, very in character, love that for him) just a baby, must protecc

elrond & durin's friendship - yes. just the right amount of sass (and elrond forgetting that dwarves are mortal and not visiting for 20 years might be in bad taste), they are great together, please more

durin & disa - YES, shame they didn't give the dwarf women beards, but still, disa is amazing, they relationship is so precious to me

gil-galad - finally an elf with long hair, very noldor-looking, very nice, very nice (his golden robes are fucking obnoxious but oh well, he's a king, also real fandom-made Finrod would 10000% approve of that choice and would suggest adding some thousand shimmering jewels), he looks so done with everyone's shit and i love that about him (he's a russingon child you can pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands and you will still not succeed)

tyelpe - jesus where do i even start. he is fucking old but seeing his soft face just brings me so much joy. the softest, brightest boy, just wanting to make fancy jewellery, absolutely no harm will ever come to him. i adore him with every fibre of my being. he is so eager with his forge project, so eager to meet the dwarves, just so eager to learn; feanor would be so proud

also adar - it brings new, uncomfortable perspective of something most of us knew before, that the orcs and elves are not so far removed, and whether or not orcs deserve anything other than being stabbed. i always struggled with the bit in lotr where we see that they actually do not all want to fight and are very much slaves. it's uncomfortable to come to the conclusion that the world is not white and black and maybe orcs don't deserve only to be wiped out when their corruption is not of their doing. a nice touch i'd say.

Not really that I can think of from the top of my head. I'm honestly kind of "eh" about her. It's more really some of her personality and character traits I have head canons for.

I imagine her being more sincere and taking things at face value. She's very imaginative and likes to doodle. (Danny keeps all the drawings she gives him).

Her and Danny's dynamic is like protective siblings (like how it is shown in the show) but I imagine that their personalities can clash at times. Dani is definitely more outwardly nicer/sweeter than Danny is. And I think it would be funny if Dani didn't really get sarcasm (Vlad acted all nice and sweet to her, so she probably didn't see much of his sassy side) meanwhile almost every other word that comes out of Danny's mouth is laced with sarcasm.

Those are kind of the only things I have, don't really know if I'll come up with any others-

OHHH I LOVE HIM IMMEDIATELY. FUNNY GUY MESSING WITH THE NARRATOR 💕 (Paranoid is the voice I love most, but I think Contrarian was the one I most quickly loved...)

I still absolutely love them, honestly even more now! Unlike with Paranoid, where I was a little worried about her shtick getting old, I unexpectedly did start finding Contrarian's shtick a little old on occasion (okay, mostly in the Wild chapter going the Networked route, where I felt like Connie was messing with the tone of things a bit too much, and I was a bit more eh on them in Fury than some people seem to be though I've come around on that!). But with the full context of the Stranger versions of the endings and even seeing the Wounded Wild version of things with them... Oof, I adore them and they just completely fascinate me, that they have so much character development in this little visual novel where they're basically a side character... And I just adore jesters in all fiction and so I 1000% agree with all the Jester Contrarian people out there! Love them so much!!!!

Favorite moment

I mean, the Stranger version of the ending, honestly. Though to be more specific, I love the way that throwing the blade out the window comes back around in the Stranger ending -- especially if you choose to do it, giving Contrarian their unexpected third beat and them finding it funny that you did it even though this time they discouraged it.

Honorable mention to the little moment they have when you meet the Wounded Wild properly, though. While they discourage you from slaying her by saying it's going against what the Narrator wants, their voice just sounds so shaken that it's obvious that's a justification. Connie really doesn't like seeing the state the Wild is in and doesn't like thinking about hurting her further like this. It goes to show that he can get that Stranger ending development even if you don't go for the Stranger ending, and I love that!

(Also honorable mention to the way they deliver two of their lines in No Way Out: "Too late, because we already did it, didn't we?" and "You're not the only one who can figure out how to do things" are just such fuckin funny lines mostly on the strength of their delivery!)

But okay, other ideas!

I love the possibility that I believe you brought up at one point, of Contrarian and Cold hanging out and egging each other on to do reckless shit but Cold straight-up getting hurt from it and Contrarian panicking because they hadn't wanted that and hadn't quite expected Cold to go that far.

I could also really love an exploration of how to get, or what it might be like to get, Contrarian in either version of Wraith or in Thorn... Or even a theoretical Stranger Chapter III (likely with Cheated)!

Unpopular opinion

I'm not really sure I have any, honestly! I think a lot of people have similar but different takes on Contrarian and nothing I could say is that unpopular... I guess maybe that pre-development, they were more of an asshole in-game than some people seem to think, but also less of one than others seem to think? (They did reassure Hero multiple times in the Stranger chapter, after all!)

Favorite relationship

Oh, absolutely, romance-wise ContraHero is my secondary OTP for this game! Platonically, though (...and okay in some cases romantically), I am really into Contrarian's dynamic and (potential) relationships with Broken, Cheated, Cold, Opportunist, Fury, Stranger, Thorn, Wounded Wild, and the Narrator.

Favorite headcanon

Contrarian being nonbinary is my absolute favorite thing! Some runners-up though: Human!Contrarian (or if Contrarian had to give a human name) would be Connie, Contrarian would absolutely get along great with Cold, and Contrarian would learn how to beatbox and get super good at it.

OH YES DUDE oh i Loved that post because it brings up actually something that for some reason i haven't seen discussed much. oliver's unreliable narration.

i have a brilliant, i think, genius four-question plan for making people understand saltburn, and it has worked before and i will maybe elaborate on it, but not right now. right now i'll talk about one of the questions.

who is oliver telling this story to, and why?

we've established that he's an unreliable narrator at least because it's the logical conclusion for a movie shot in a way that opens and closes with his narrative. but what does oliver being untruthful actually mean for what we know about anything and everything that happened. have you ever obsessed over this particular question. well. i have.

my hot take, first of all, is that oliver is not that smart. he's clever, but the point of the movie is that he's caught up in and driven by desire; desire, pointedly, in the moment, merging desire, adapting to circumstance and leading him on. his want is not concrete from the beginning. his want is insatiable hunger that grows.

so, okay, from the top. the whole meet-cute with felix? because of a punctured tire? eh. idk if that's true. the money thing at the bar, pretending to not have any while he actually did? eh, perhaps. chronologically he then lies to felix about his dad, and this is big, this is deliberate, this is what ties felix to him for good.

what if the first two instances were coincidences? like, felix genuinely in trouble then, oliver genuinely out of cash. makes sense to become attached and actually do something, something impulsive, drastic, when felix seems to be drifting away, and lie about his dad.

interjection: you might be saying, nadia, he lied about his family from the get-go. well of course. i didn't say he's not smart enough to clock what image of a damsel in distress felix would gobble up. i'm saying he didn't do it for the long game, because there was no long game to speak of, as narrator-oliver would have you believe. i think he wanted felix so badly in that moment of several months in oxford, i think he was so blinded that he would've said anything. and he did.

now, i've briefly talked about oliver's feelings about the invitation to saltburn, and i think this is very important here. in the moment, he couldn't possibly know what exactly this invitation could mean, in the long run, only that it is definitely the next step in progression of desire for felix. present-day oliver interjection, and i believed him, after felix said he could leave anytime, i read as a slip up, an admission that oliver didn't plan shit, or at least from the beginning he didn't. it lured him in as soon as he got there, gothic house driving mad-style. he held on to a dream of something elusive (felix as a friend? lover? forever-partner in whatever capacity? i want him so bad i don't care what he is as long as he's there? please? please?).

the other obvious hole to poke at is in the end. venetia very conveniently takes the razors he places for her, and while sure, it could be read as him just hinting at how he conveniently read her fragile state and took advantage of it, i don't buy it. (i'm honestly even tempted to suggest he met elspeth on accident, to then spin a pretty story for his own sake, but him keeping tabs on the surviving cattons all those years tracks with what we know about obsessive oliver; he's definitely known about her flat for a while.)

but those are all minor stuff. i get completely if you think i'm reading too much into it and this is all just a headcanon after all, to be fair. BUT. but.

my second big take is that oliver was/is madly in love with felix. i know, shocking. but you have probably seen people say he wasn't. i will elaborate.

i wasn't in love with him. i loved him. i hated him. what does this sound like. have you ever had a friend come to you after a breakup fuming and telling you how they'll never end up with this asshole for sure and then get back together with him and then break up and say the same thing again.

i loved him, but i wasn't in love with him. i know everyone thought i was, but i wasn't. have you never told anyone something of the sort, specifically the last part, to emphasize just how it's everyone around you that's kinda hung up on whatever it is, and you've moved way past it, actually. have you never told yourself that.

i have. i know many other people who have, too. so, who is oliver telling this story to, and why? there's no one but dead elspeth in front of him. there's no one but himself. fun fact: each time you recall an event, it distorts under the influence of the mix of past and present emotions. each time you recall, you mold memory (source, e.g., x). the way i personally see it, oliver, for whatever reason, retells the story in order to solidify his own memory of it in the way that he wants to remember it. whatever he says, this is his final word, and this is his final truth.

this is also why details slip through, like my beloved i believed him, like the emotional i hated him growing into self-convincing, misleadingly dismissive, definitely unsure i hated him by the end. those are the true emotions that he recalls, those are the times that are hard to rewrite, for whatever reason.

of course, he hated them all. but before that, he loved felix to the point of blindly following where felix's desire led oliver, at least the way oliver perceived felix's desire. it failed, crucially, when felix's desire brought them to the center of the labyrinth, where oliver could not be the desired anymore.

my third hot take in connection to this is that oliver did not know he would kill felix until the very night he did it. he didn't know it, i think, until the last hour, until felix refused to reconcile completely, until he made his blood run cold. i also briefly mention it here, specifically how farleigh is tragically connected to felix's death, in my opinion. this tracks with, again, my strong belief that oliver lies, lies and lies throughout this whole story about wanting to take everything from felix from the beginning; no, he fucking didn't. he wanted felix. he wanted felix to be his. that was number one priority. he wanted felix and whatever else came with it, undoubtedly, but not the other way around.

paradoxically, he also wanted to be felix; he wanted to be him and be with him just as us tumblr people can often relate and the tragedy is that you always have to choose. felix pushed him away, so there was no other choice but to take what was left of felix that oliver could take. hence the clothes wearing, the table scene talk, the refusal to leave.

felix chose not to choose oliver, so oliver became felix. it's his fault. felix promised oliver could leave. felix left instead. what was oliver to do.

but to your point about the books, i think it could be either way, actually. i think he could have lied about it because technically that's also in character for him, he was performing for an audience of his tutor. but i also think that he was, genuinely, a nerd before he came to oxford, and he didn't, and still doesn't, have any friends, and he hates his sisters and his mother and is miserable. he's the perfect profile of someone who'd read king james' bible over the summer, and then some, imma be honest.

so, yes. i think oliver lies about most things in saltburn and i think he's pathetic, lost, confused, grieving, angry, horny, down bad and in denial. and i fucking love him. i so fuckin do.

Hi Anon! Even though we have preference towards the cursed side of things, Lilia absolutely has a softer side, especially now since he mellowed down a lot over the years. He genuinely loves his close ones, and he genuinely just wants to have a good time and for his boys to live a meaningful and happy life.

He isn’t the father of the year, and it’s fun to talk about him failing miserably and completely misunderstanding how children work (+ it’s fun to come up with fucked up headcanons teehee), but he still tried his best and did a pretty decent job. It absolutely wasn’t his intention to hurt Malleus or Silver, Sebek as well. He is also very loveable; there is a reason he has so many friends after all~

I can actually picture him having meaningful conversations with Idia about life and death and what’s the meaning of life and all. I can also picture him sharing quiet nostalgic moments with Silver or smooching Malleus’ cheeks or doing other stuff similar to that.

I could give you some specific headcanons if you tell me what Lilia ship I should write it about~ (Ryu says, literally drowning in hc asks that are waiting for months to be written… I am so sorry)

Hello! Thank you again for always taking the time to respond to any notes I send, can’t wait to see what comes next! On your IG I noticed how Sakura’s Crown of the Sun seal reminds me of Hashiram’s warrior monk sage mode from a cosmetic pov. Which made me think about how you pointed out how Sakura is thematically a Senju or represents them in the overall themes of the story. Which leads to a head cannon I wanted to bounce off you. Shinachiku in other fanfics I have read he’s never written to have Sage mode which would be something that fits his universal traits given to him. From the show/manga I felt that Sage mode you a character who had the physical, mental & spiritual fortitude. Shina fits the bill but if he were to have a Sage mode it would look similar to Hashiram that way he’s not following directly in his father footsteps but it gives Sakura homage as Shina powers align closer to her. Which I like that Shina both in designs and abilities come from Sakura. It makes him unique not just to be another Naruto clone which only really works when you have a tragic backstory like him. My point is that I felt like Shina that warrior monk sage mode shows his duality as a character. He’s universally acknowledged as a skilled medic which implies he has a value and sanctity for life and seeks to prevent death and heal others but at the same time he’s expert hand to hand combatant and wields tanto blades which are specifically made for killing. It’s one of things I love about his character that duality, he’s both the yin and yang. Much like his parents. Sorry for the long paragraph I just enjoy sharing these thoughts!

Welcome back!

I'll start by saying please stop apologizing for these long asks, I love them! Even if I'm not always able to respond right away to them, do know that I love getting them and reading them and exchange all these headcanons with you.

Makes my heart smile when I see someone is really analyzing Kaika in such a beautiful way. Feels like an honor, tbh.

Now to get to the actual point of the story...

First of all, Sakura's seal... well, there's a reason why I made that seal the way I did it. Those old theories of mine echoes so hard and far away, that nowadays they're used as commercial hook in the franchise.

And it's not the first time that I see in the franchise concepts that have been used that I talked about at some point in my theories.

One of the biggest I've seen is ironically the one theory that I couldn't recover after losing my blog 2 or 3 times already (lost the count tbh cuz when you have to build it from scratch every time, it's so tiresome honestly) called Spiritual Enlightenment: Sakura Haruno, Slug Sage mode and possible genjutsu connection.

Most of what I see in the sequel nowadays in terms of certain power-ups are mechanics that I've laid down in that theory that I lost.

Most will say that eh, I'm talking BS cuz I don't have that theory so I don't have a way to prove it. But the thing is, there are certain residuals/artifacts if you may say so of that theory around the internet.

So then, the reason I had her seal look like Hashirama's is precisely because I'm making use of my own theories in a way that I think Kishimoto wanted to develop Sakura, like I said so many times.

Now, as for Shina, the way I plan on developing him has connections to that and doesn't at the same time. I won't go too much into detail, but I made him that way because I wanted to have something unique to him, in a way, like you said. I don't want him to be a copy of anyone.

That's why some of the power-ups I have in mind for him are and aren't connected to that specific similarity. I have a little twist in mind.

But what I do have prepared for Shina, is the Heaven & Earth symbolism in his power-ups. He's not gonna necessarily fit the warrior monk archetype tbh. If anything, the monk type will fit more for Arashi, the way I have him built.

But, in a way partially, it will also fit with Shina. So you see, that's why I say that it is and it isn't at the same time. But I do get from where you're coming and I agree with you in the sense that Shina has respect for the sanctity of life. After all, he is very laid back and respectable like Katsuyu. That's why she becomes his favorite summon and always has a Katsuyu plushie haha.

The thing is, I built all 3 siblings in a way that fit certain themes and symbolism, but with a unique twist, I'd say.

For example one of Shina's power-ups is going to be tied to Hanami, and through that, Hanami also gets her own power-up. Arashi in a way is the one who's more hermit/monk like so his power-ups aren't tied directly to his siblings per se. But that's because I want Arashi to be more connected with the Uzumakis.

And I did all that because I wanted to have the family theme represented in more ways than one, which is the classic blood relation.

I won't go exactly into too much detail because I don't want to give away the "juicy" parts so to speak, haha. But I hope everyone will find it as interesting as I seem to be finding them in my head, lol.

Hii! Long time no see, eh? If I'm asked to drop some Squaronna lore I'm here to provide! Gotta admit these questions are really interesting considering the nature of the ship, heh.

So, let's get started! ~

3. Which one outlives the other, and how they cope?

I can say this is a tough question, because both Squalo and Veronna walk side by side with death and danger (are they jinxed in a way? We'll never know LMAO), not only because they keep fighting each other 24/7, but due to their own occupations. Since the chances are 50/50 for both of them, I can try to tell their points of view when it comes to coping!

I think Squalo just see such a thing naturally. Countless lives were in his hands (or hand if we're being more specific), but honestly, part of him would feel enraged. Since Veronna was his target from the start, and not only he failed to take her life but ended up having an intense affair with the Devil of Venice, he'd either mock up the situation or simply stay silent as a sign of respect for an opponent that he faced in battle. But deep down, he'd be like "It should be me", because in their TYL backstory he makes it clear that his blade would be the one to end her life. So she couldn't die to anyone else if not by him. Kinda twisted, but judging by their personalities, maybe that's how his love works.

For Veronna, things change a little bit. She's pretty much reserved about feelings, and even as a fellow assassin, there's still some inner wounds she's unable to heal, pretty much thanks to what she did with her own family. Of course, she'd be able to live longer thanks to the Stregheria curse, but I think that losing the only person who could keep up with her own nature would be a shock. She usually says that no one can give her what she wants, and the only man who crossed her path and offered a good challenge and banter... Is now gone. That would be painful for Veronna, knowing that everyone around her will embrace death sooner than her. Pretty much she'd end up shedding a tear, but no one would be able to see, since she'll chose to isolate herself.

8. What they argue about?

This one is good! Because they don't usually argue. They just...

I swear to the gods, you don't want to be around them when they're arguing. And that could be for both serious and funny moments, the rule is still the same - The one with a louder voice wins. I guess Squalo takes the cake for that one? XD

But headcanons aside, I do think the main reason of their arguing is about domestic stuff. These two just CAN'T divide the chores and things tend to be pretty much inbalanced. Veronna tends to be a little competitive on the matter and Squalo wouldn't back down from a challenge. Expect some silly wars in the kitchen just to know who's gonna be in charge of dinner. The loser ends up with the dishes, that mind you... There will be A LOT, considering how much Veronna eats.

In a more serious side, I think that a common topic when it comes to arguing is about their own recklessness. Veronna tends to act more on instinct than reasoning when it comes to battles, and this is something that Squalo both loves and hates. One thing is when they're sparring (or should I say, fight to death), and another one is when they're facing the enemy. Squalo is more self-centered aside from his loud-talking, while Veronna hates to receive orders and does things on her own terms. So they tend to argue a lot about it.

Nothing that ending up with a daring kiss as a truce wouldn't help, though, heh.

As for the question about associations with music, I basically thought about sound, more precisely about the sound of the voice and how you imagine the characters.

I know that at least Crane and Batman had their own game/movie/TV adaptations where they were voiced. But maybe you have personal favorites among the voice acting? There may even be some personal headcanons.

that’s such a neat question! 

i’m a sucker for voice acting an’ generally, i really enjoy specific types of voices. but i won’t lie, it’s hard for me to imagine batman’s voice as anything, but kevin conroy. i grow up with that batman an’ the fact, that he voiced him in many other batman related projects also added to it. an’ speaking of which, this prob why i also imagine jonathan’s voice to be of henry polic II. or at least, smth close to it. maybe, hence british accent *unless it’s BTAS scarecrow, haha* but honestly, BTAS was great not only for its writing an’ impressive animation, but also for how well they picked the voice acting cast an’ music. all of those things complimented what was happening on the screen. i feel like after certain era, they got more lackluster with it, but it might be just me.

i do try to be fair to people who attempt to voice batman nowadays. like, there isn’t replacing conroy. not really. but from what i’ve seen the guy, who voiced batman in caped crusader animated series *i didn’t watch it tho, nor planning on doing so* did a fairly good job. judging from the trailers an’ reviews at least. but in general, i think that some folks kinda exaggerate how bruce would use his voice as batman. the voice actor in arkham shadows did a fairly good balance between bruce an’ batman’s voices, making them different enough to tell smth about the character. an’ i kinda like how he also added a flavour to his prison persona too. even if the moment, when he was yelling as batman made me giggle, bc he kinda overdid it. 

but as i said, conroy not only spoke an' used tones, which suited both batman an' bruce, but his voice in general is just top notch for the character. like, when i'm reading comics, i don't imagine bruce with esp deep or low voice. i think, that he generally should have that ideal balance between masculine voice, which also can be softened up if needed. smth that you can call a velvet baritone, perhaps?

as for jonathan, i’m really not a fan of how they kept giving him a somewhat 'sweet' voice in arkhamverse. inside my head, crane’s voice isn’t supposed to be gentle or pleasant in the traditional sense of the word, or mmm … boyish, might be the better term? an' for me, it's like eh, no thanks lol. i think, that polic really grasped an intonation a professor or a doctor might use with you. esp bc crane’s type of people do tend to make an accent on specific words. at least, inside my mind, i picture jon speaking in such a manner. an’ that his voice be smth of a math teacher, less so of a soothing psychiatrist. i honestly think that for arkham games, they could have used jackie earle haley’s voice instead of who they went with. like jackie had already played a dc character before *rorschach an’ boy, is he amazing in that role* an’ he also voiced ruvik in the evil within. an' tbh, him an’ arkham knight jonathan already feel like the same-ish kind of character in a way. so why not double down on it? i mean, they even have the same silhouette *an' like they didn't shower for one year straight* would have been kinda funny if they had the same voice too. but perhaps, it wasn’t possible bc both games come out around the same time. so idk, maybe they did consider this. but really, haley could easily pull it off, esp since in the game ak!jon is supposed to speak in more collected, monotone way than usual. an’ he could easily accomplish this. as well as doing more threatening, lower voices an' tones as well. 

also how come that robert englund didn’t get to voice the scarecrow in anything yet?? like come on. his voice would have been so good for the role. an’ i mean, he voice the riddler out of all people in batman *2004* animated show, but not jon? i kinda think that englund’s voice would really suit some incarnations of the comicverse!jonathan.

naturally, those are just my own preferences. i know, that some people were happy with who voice jonathan in arkhamverse, but i’m a fussy fella lol.

Of course, and thanks for the ask! I'll admit I had a lot of trouble with picking stuff out, but I'm pretty happy with the songs I found. I've got one for Ide, one for MatsuIde, and one for Namikawa.

Ide: "Hiding" by Modern Baseball

Ide's difficult! He seems like such a simple guy, I'd bet he wouldn't even listen to music all that often, lol XD I wanted to find something that reflected his more reserved personality but also nodded to his complicated feelings about the Kira case. This song is quiet and kinda comforting in some places, but loud (and almost violent) in others.

Overall, it feels like "Hiding" is a song about the past, about happy memories that are long behind you. And for Ide, who spends a good chunk of the plot unsure about what's going to happen next, it feels fitting, in a weird way.

Some of the lyrics that I think fit him the best from this are:

"Entertain the cancer, we all answer upwards either way The waiting game is tied again. Backs of hands and phrases, misplaced gazes Things we still deny to selves and hesitate to talk about"

Those second 2 lines could definitely be interpreted in a more shippy context, but I like the "things we still deny" line referring to Kira's identity. Ide's stance on things is... kinda weird, isn't it? Like, he seems to hope that Light isn't Kira, but also he kinda sees it coming in the end. I dunno, he's such an interesting guy.

MatsuIde: "This Side of Paradise" by Coyote Theory

I was originally gonna look for something much angsty-er, but this one works just fine. Yes, it sounds kinda sad, but also happy at the same time? Something about it just screams MatsuIde to me.

I think part of it is the fact that the Task Force after the time skip (and particularly after Soichiro's death) is... kinda tragic. Like, we as the audience know that nothing they do is going to matter as far as finding Kira goes, but they still keep ongoing anyways. And since they're spending so much time on the case, they all pretty much isolate themselves from the rest of the world, especially Matsuda and Ide.

I can't remember who it was (I think @/tinycrescent?) but someone had the headcanon that Matsuda was, despite how social and bubbly he appears, a lonely person when it comes down to it. Honestly, I can see it- especially after Light is revealed to be Kira all along. He'd probably have a hard time trusting people after all that, with a few exceptions. And Ide is definitely one of those exceptions.

Ide doesn't seem like a social person to begin with, but I think Matsuda joking around with him gets him out of his shell a little bit. I think that the two of them get to be more comfortable around each other, like it "feels right" to exist together, if that makes sense.

Namikawa: "Machine" by Regina Spektor

Gahh I really wish I knew Namikawa better, or this would've been easier 😅

(I was originally gonna go with "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy 7, since Sephiroth was my little bro's nickname for Namikawa. But I figured that Namikawa deserved something a little better. So I went with "Machine".)

I picked this one because of the instrumentals. Namikawa strikes me as a methodical, intellectual kind of guy, and the piano in this song makes me think of that. At the same time, the pounding drums give off the impression that there's a lot going on beneath the surface, something darker that needs to be explored. This instrumental version sounds like something that would play when he's onscreen to me.

As for the lyrics... eh. They kind of fit him? Maybe if you squint. I dunno if it's accurate to say that Namikawa is "hooked into [a] machine", but there is something that's just a touch messed up about the whole Yotsuba thing. Like, the group is stuck cooperating with Kira during these meetings, no matter what- if they leave or disagree with Kira too much, they risk dying. It's kind of like they're stuck going along with Kira, not that Namikawa minds. As long as he stays on top, which he will.

Joker

Him being awful goes without saying I think. Everyone else has a gimmick/something that makes them unique, but Dan had a huge Persona fixation at the time his episode was first being streamed so he was just like “eh I’ll just keep Joker Persona as Joker Persona”! This causes him to kinda fall behind on development, since he isn’t really Dan’s OC. When thinking of a character to bring back after the timeskip, he barely even considered Joker cuz there simply isn’t much to be done with him! Giving everyone else that Failboat Charm allowed them to have more creative things since they’re just loosely based off of other stuff. Like even his canon lore sucks, bro deserves better </3

Smuk

Smuk ilysm but you’re such a nothingburger (haha get it cuz food) of a character in the actual canon of the series, like every time I talk about him to someone I kinda need to remind myself of some of the actual bits of his personality past the Shrek stuff and that is. not good! I’m so glad he’s gotten some info in Character Development cuz Kronkui knows he needed it, but even then most of that stuff is told and not shown?? He’s not like Joker though because he actually does have some personality shine. His dynamic with characters like Bob and Rose is amazing, and when he isn’t serving the others spicy food, he can be really kind! He just needs a liiiitle more on the Being More Than Just A Parody department! Shoutouts to his accent tho I love it sm

I’m not putting Yawn this low cuz he’s BADLY written, I’m putting him here since I couldn’t think of a better placement yknow? This guy is such a douche and honestly I can slightly respect that, him being a jerk doesn’t mean his writing sucks! His love of nature and money is such a clashing thing it circled back to being hilarious to me, and I liked Dan’s idea for his timeskip lore where he’s just On His Deathbed and just. shoves his daughter in front of an iPad and expects Cocomelon to raise her lmaoo, it’s so in character which is way better than what he did for Bob :P

Lanc

As much as I love The FailFleet Miis, a lot of the love I have for them is cuz of headcanon stuff. Like cmon if you look at canon we know next to nothing about Lanc! Other than Smuk, we at least know something about what life was like for the team before meeting Failboat! And the one thing we DO know about Lanc’s past is a throwaway line that could easily be retconned in the future. However, they do impact S2 in a way the other S1-exclusives don’t (if they didn’t get close to Chi, she would’ve never joined The Incident) so they have that above everyone else! But I will say that they need more on their own to do, Dan only really knows them atp as Chi’s 100% Platonic Best Friend™️ and as a fan of Lanchi, I really hope that someday Dan can see their potential beyond that relationship

THIS MAN IS SO TRAGIC LIKE HELLO?? He’s tied with Lanc for me because even though he has all this angst potential and development it’s just kinda. not used. Like this man was experimented on because he was so desperate to fit in and have powers like AGHHH… I love him a lot though and I think S1 Neksdor is easily the best party cuz of how the trio bounce off each other! For an S1 exclusive that hasn’t come back yet, he has a well written backstory and his motivations make sense!! I really hope that when he comes back in S3, Dan does his character well!

Big Bill

Bill is amazing but in canon he really doesn’t have much going for him apart from his strength or being Shrimp’s brother figure… like even his multiclass is because he wants to help with her concerts! I wish he had more time to shine on his own, and I hope S3 will give him that opportunity! His interactions with both her and the rest of The Incident give me life and I really think Bill needs to be talked about more! Also I’m so glad Dan made him more of a younger-ish older brother to Shrimp instead of an actually older (catfish) mentor/father figure to her especially since she already had Orion in that role and after S2 Dan created Mussel soooo yea!! That was definitely a change for the better! :]

Shrimp

I really like Shrimp!! Her backstory is really solid and seeing her find a place on the surface with The Incident is so sweet!! I will say though, despite a lot of the focus and spotlight being on her, she doesn’t really develop? I mean she does but she doesn’t yknow?? Maybe I’m going crazy. She’s above some others mainly cuz she has a fleshed out backstory (instead of like bits and pieces) and isn’t too shallow. I can see why she’s a fan (and creator) favorite!!

Simple Bob

THE DEMON HUNTER!! I’d say he’s a really well written character, but until Dan does S3 we’re all stuck with that UGLY Simpler Bald who’s just an insult to Bob’s whole existence pre-S2 and it STINKS!! But that aside though.. this man needs more respect by Dan. He has an extremely solid start, a motivation to take Hank down, and has his personality properly shine though later in S1 with his arc of becoming more unique and less, well, simple! I just wish Dan committed to this arc in his “““comeback”””, but looking at what he’s said about the S3 timeskip he has in mind, Bob’s story could maybe take a turn for the better again! Third time’s the charm after all!

Orion

The Nose Of The North himself, Orion Oopsie!! The guy’s a really solid character and I respect him a lot! From being in the royal guard to having his wife go into some sorta coma, it’s clear he has one hell of a past. Also I just need to mention his relationship with Slapo (he wore that goofy makeup the WHOLE TIME because he knew it would make his daughter happy. what a king <3) along with the rest of The Incident.. it’s just all wholesome!! On that note I will say that in some angles the way he seemingly let Slapo just be by herself for a majority of S2 can be seen as concerning, and Orion continues a pattern of male characters being mentors/fathers, but beside those small things, I think he’s a great character!!

YAY FRIEND!! Her direct connections to Lee and them accidentally helping him with his plan is really interesting, Friend’s kindness is both their biggest strength and their biggest flaw and I love how the series explores that! I also love how it clashes with the aspects of her personality that he adopts from Lee after the reveal (mainly the bloodthirstiness) and AGGHH the whole angst with Lee is so good. Also them just being a mystery to the others to mess with them is perfection. They deserve to be happy I think :)

CHIN KID ILY!!!! trying not to be biased, after her timeskip cutscene she doesn’t get like. any development apart from funny comic relief bits which is why she is in A Mid Tier but at the same time.. the personality that she embodies is just the right kind of insane! She’s a fun character and sometimes that’s all you gotta be! I really hope she does get some more love someday though.. but even if she doesn’t I won’t complain too much :3

Rose

woah I love identity theft! OK BUT HER ARC SHOWING HER GET WORSE WAS SUCH A UNIQUE THING COMPARED TO THE OTHERS and seeing her become more unlikable is watching a beautiful trainwreck to me. I think Rose is one of the more complex and nuanced characters in this series, since while trying to appease the people who think she’s Rosalina is reasonable (considering how screwed she’d be if she broke character), she just. she gets WAY too into it and it’s pretty sad to see (/pos). I am VERY interested to see what S3 has in store for her! I NEED HER TO LOSE HER MONEY!!

MY FAVORITE DARK CURSE!! Him being the S2 protag and Facing The Consequences Of His Actions is probably one of the smartest semi-unintentional writing decisions Dan has done for this series! I don’t really have any issues for him apart from wishing he got more spotlight post-anniversary announcement. I also love how he’s still has a lot of traits from when he was the Dark Curse (personality wise), but you can still tell he’s changed from traveling with Kazoo Man! Also seeing him learn to love his party is just nice to witness <3

C!Failboat

You can tell I’ve had some character development when I say this man is decently well written lmaoo, I used to HATE this guy! I will admit, a lot of the bits I like about him is when he’s more established to be his own thing separate from Dan (like in LOS). Him being more self centered but mellowing out as the series goes by isn’t really a front and center thing on your first watch through, but when it makes its impact it makes its impact. My only gripe is that I think HE SHOWS UP TOO MUCH, and while yeah this is the Failboat lore, I think Dan should’ve let Mar keep the protagonist spotlight the whole time since C!Fail is more fit for a side role imo (and he’s the main guy in everything else :|)

MORE PEOPLE NEED TO TALK ABOUT HER ARC BROOOOO like. A double agent that needs to hide multiple aspects of her identity but learning to embrace those parts of herself and breaking free from the Mystery Curse’s mission AND HER MULTICLASS IT WAS ALL SO GOOD!! Perfect buildup, perfect execution, I love it so much. Peak writing! I can’t think of much else to say rn!

This was obvious from the start, but can you blame me for putting her at number 1? She has it all!! well written trauma, reasonable responses to the situations she’s thrown into, an arc of her opening up and finding a group that she learns won’t leave her or get killed… (and it’s implied she gets a gf too, so that’s cool!) When I first watched the series, Erica was the character I latched to the most, and I’m sure you all can see the reasons why! People have analyzed her way better than I can, so I’ll just say this: You should’ve seen me watching her cutscene for the first time CUZ OH MY GOD that was definitely one of her best moments!! >w<

Boy, is ‘er ‘ead ever spinnin’! Wot is all this stuff?? She wouldn’t have believed it if she didn’t see it for herself, but, well, she is seeing it, so she sort of has to believe it. Her eyes are wide, transfixed on the screen, and she’s pretty well stunned into silence as she watches the videos. (Name) needs to promise that they won’t show these things to anyone else, aside from the other first-stringers, mainly because… if it makes her head spin, she doesn’t want that happening to anyone else! It’s all so fantastical, like some kind of storybook. Although it doesn’t change Beast’s opinion of them, she suddenly feels so… plain, compared to someone from the future.

Oh, now, wot… wot’s all that? It’s a buncha witchcraft ‘r somethin’! Honestly, he shouldn’t be so surprised. He knows better than most that technology is moving faster every day, new ideas and machines being built. It’s just that he’s never seen something so advanced as a tiny, thin box that can play moving pictures! It makes him wonder how fast things are moving, exactly, until he realizes that (Name) is just from a future the rest of the world hasn’t reached yet. It’s a little hard to wrap his mind around. Still, he’s fascinated, so if they let him jump from video to video, he’ll get so distracted he forgets to practice for his shows.

Wot the… all this stuff’s incredible!! Wot’s this one do? ‘N’ this one? ‘N’… well. Despite that they don’t want to mess up all of (Name)’s stuff, they’re endlessly curious about all of it. They want to go through and find out what each of these things is for. Of course, (Name) may want to limit Freckles’ interaction with their things… it might so happen that Freckles gets overexcited to drops their phone. And, ah, considering the lack of phone repair folks in this era, avoiding that is in (Name)’s best interests. Regardless, Freckles is absolutely starry-eyed, transfixed on every video they see, always waiting to hear the next story (Name) will tell them about the future.

Eh? All these odd li’l bits an’ bobs… goodness, look what they all do! That’s somethin’ else, that is. He tries very hard not to take a deep interest in it, mainly because he doesn’t want to get too… involved, with complicated future goings-on. His life and his family’s life are all complex enough as it is; adding more variables to that would just be a bad idea. Even so, he’s cordial with them, just as friendly as anything, and he’s undoubtedly interested in whatever they want to show them. The future is so different from his own life, but, well, maybe that’s why he likes seeing it all. It’s entirely possible he might walk around humming or singing some upbeat pop tune from a video they’ve shown him. (Actually, more than possible. Very plausible.)

Well, don’t that beat all? Ain’t nothin’ ‘e ever ‘eard of in ‘is life, some li’l thing that plays moving pictures. It’s definitely interesting to him, it’s just… he never imagined he’d be getting to see things like this. A little surreal, if he’s being honest. Not that he’s complaining. He doesn’t have much else to do, so if (Name) wants to sit round showing him things from the future, he’ll gladly do so. All the history is a little mind-boggling, but he truly likes all the various music they show him. If they’d be alright with it, he might lie down next to them listening to whatever playlist they put on, just relaxing.

Oi, wot manner ‘f junk do they got? All this crap ‘n’ some’ow the future ain’t done nothin’ other’n screw round? He looks at everything (Name) has laid out or everything they show him piece by piece, and he just scoffs at it. Much like he scoffs at everything else, really. To him it’s all fanciful… and, at the same time, rather inconsequential in the grand scheme of everything. After all, it’s interesting, sure. What else? He rolls his eyes every time they want to show him something, though to his credit, he does usually pay attention. Some of it catches his eye, at least. If nothing else, he humors them. The history lesson is the most fascinating thing to him!

(How are they making those pictures move like that?!) Er, well, he doesn’t know, Emily. (Should we ask??) He’s pretty sure they’re going to explain… aren’t they? The explanation might go over Snake’s head, as well as his pets’. However, they’re all more than glad to listen. For his part, even if he doesn’t quite understand it, he’s spellbound by the idea of it. His eyes are big and focused as he stares at the screen, watching intently whatever they’re playing for him. More than once he’s fallen asleep, listening to and watching something while laying his head on their shoulder or chest. He loves watching videos of cute pet snakes… finally, other people understand the appeal!

Goodness, she ain’t never seen somethin’ so… so… strange! It ain’t bad ‘r anythin’, jus’, different, y’know? Similarly to her brother, she initially dismisses the idea as something that isn’t particularly useful or something that doesn’t really have much point to it. Though, she’s a bit more polite in that she asks about whatever (Name) happens to be showing her, and tries to display some sort of engagement with it. The history lesson is alright… what she likes best are the videos of people proposing to their lovers. It’s so wholesome and precious, she can’t get enough! She feels a little bad because, well, those things are supposed to be private moments… but they’re so sweet… she doesn’t feel bad enough to stop watching!

Characters I have chosen (it's 3, I couldn't decide on the first criteria, so this is gonna be quite a long post):

For the first criteria we have Strip 'The King' Weathers and Finn McMissile

And for the second criteria we have Francesco Bernoulli.

-> When I first watched the second movie of the Cars-Trilogy I mainly focused on the whole espionage thing that was going on, and less on the World Grand Prix racing. Therefore I didn't pay much attention to the other racers individually. And at first I did not like Francesco at all. He reminded me too much of Lightning, when Lightning was a rookie and I didn't like that. Bernoulli gave me, as mentioned, similar vibes as rookie Lightning, the vibes of the whole 'being a one-man-kind of show' thing. Francesco came across as a cocky, flirtatious, over confident character with a high ego. (At least for me ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ)

But after I rewatched the movie several times, I started to like him more. (Well and maybe some fanfictions had their influence as well-) I began to think more about him, about his way on and off the track, his relations and so on. I saw that, despite his seemingly high ego, he is indeed a kind soul. For example how he seems to like the fact that his mother is his 'biggest/greatest' fan, and he is open about that too. I have a feeling some other racers would be embarrassed to see their family members, especially their mother, cheering for them. But he doesn't mind it. -> When he crashed at the Tiebreaker race, and during middle school

-> After his mother's death, and later when Leland passed

-> After a harsh break up, and unlucky for him, his Mama was very ill at the same time too (she got better of course)

24) What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone

-> He once wanted to commit. (I'm sorry, I'm dumping so much trauma on the poor guy) Never told anyone. Not even his parents found out. Not even Lynda or Tex know, he keeps that secret to himself and he will take it with him into his grave.

-> He will never tell anyone, how exactly his mother passed, only he knows the real reason and he is gonna keep it that way

-> He used to eat flowers when he was bored, and occasionally he still does that. Of course he isn't gonna tell anyone, his Mama doesn't know either

25) When do you think they acted the most ooc?

-> When he met Doc for the first time and was alone with him. I don't know what kind of hyperfixation suddenly hit him, but he suddenly became all excited and bubbly. I mean his Idol was in front of him. (I am sorry I couldn't think of any movie scene that seemed ooc for him)

-> That one scene in Cars 2 in Japan, where he fought with some of the lemons. There is this one scene, one split second, where he was shocked to suddenly be rammed

-> Also in Japan, during the race on the dirt part of the track. We all know he lost his momentum there due to not knowing how to properly drive in dirt. That was the one moment his self-confidence/his ego took damage.

26) When do you think they were being 'themselves' the most?

-> Honestly, on the track, with Lynda and Tex, with other friends, with his nephew and so on

-> Around Leland/Tomber, and with Mater/(Holley)

-> With his fellow WGP racers, especially with Lightning
